Alexis Espinal is a Captain at American Airlines operating the Boeing 737 with over 6,800 hours of flight experience, including more than 2,800 as Pilot-in-Command and over 5,400 hours in turbine aircraft. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he holds multiple type ratings including the B737, A320, Global 7500, Challenger 600, and several Citation and Learjet models.
Alexis has extensive experience across major commercial and corporate aviation sectors. His career includes previous roles as First Officer at United Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and Frontier Airlines, flying Airbus A320 family aircraft throughout the Americas under FAR Part 121.
In the corporate aviation world, Alexis has captained long-range business jets such as the Global 6000/7500 for IAC/Expedia Global and held leadership roles, including Assistant Director of Safety. He also served as Assistant Chief Pilot at Executive Airlink, where he managed pilot operations, implemented paperless cockpit systems, and oversaw regulatory compliance.
Alexis combines hands-on international operations experience — including North Atlantic and Pacific crossings and CPDLC/FANS 1/A procedures — with a background in safety systems and flight department management. He is also an active First Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol in Boca Raton, Florida.
Alexis is pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Management and a Professional Pilot Technology degree from Broward College, complementing his professional flight training with academic development in leadership and operations management.
